It seems like everyone is throwing back to the 80s these days. I keep running into photographs that pop simplicity, geometry, atmosphere, beauty, feel and fundamental abstractness. Beyond the lasting memory of the performance itself I want my images to remain long after the other things have faded. Personally, I prefer black & white photography because it does more to evoke an emotion and freeze a moment in time than any other medium.

Car or bicycle? Well, let us wait few more days and lets see the weather forecast. You know it changes up there everyday. Exactly! That's why we have to decide once and for all. OK then. Let's risk it and take the bikes no matter what! Then the bike it is.

It started in Inverness just because direct train from London doesn't go any further, the day when Scottish Open finished. To my opinion, nothing to be missed, because rain was pouring like from the bucket for the last month until the very last day. But here we are, time to flip the card over!

So from Inverness we headed to Loch Ness and then we followed the road to Inner Hebrides. We diverted a few miles before Fort Augustus. Definitely nice town to see but our purpose was to see real Scotland.

Du-Blog-Aug 23, 2011The Land of Llamas-Peru

Beyond desire to leave the distinct odor of Lima, we headed to Cuzco (3,400 masl) near the Urubamba Valley. Many believe the city was designed in the shape of a puma. Cuzco has this touristy feel to it where you can eat pizza and burger, however it’s still one of those cities where tradition wins before commercialism, so yes, nice place to visit.

What I was really looking forward to on the journey was Lake Titicaca, 3,811 m (12,500 ft) above sea level, as I have had a chance to enjoy some time on the lake before from the Bolivian side. I couldn’t resist experiencing this feeling again. But I didn’t know that I am running straight into a disaster...
