Ice Climbing Experience (ICE)
My first Ice climbing experience inside Ellis Brigham's Tower House Covent Garden Store. I hope this video helps to those who are thinking to have a go and expand their knowledge of climbing techniques. Anthony, the instructor, is quite clearly explaining the techniques and more importantly my elementary mistakes. First ice climbing session balances technical instructions-which are more than necessary, and practical climbing. The wall is 8m height where you can choose from a delightsome steepness, that’s my first climb on the video, to a respective over-hang, that’s my second climb on the video. Obviously there are many routes in between to choose from.

Ice climbing is not just physical trial, but it’s also mentally demanding activity.  I should say more mentally demanding than rock climbing. You always have to carefully choose the correct spot to hammer your axe. A careless move could result anything from ice spraying into your face to the collapse.

About this video:
Technique I used to edit this movie is called “The bleach by pass cinematic” where I have added an additional layer to the original movie with colour corrector 3-way filter for both movie layers. Top layer contains composite Overlay mode with 80% opacity and saturation brought to 0%. I kept original parameters for the bottom layer. The only adjustment I made is with blacks, midds and whites. This is one of the simple solutions how to create a cinematic (dramatic) effect with a high contrast.
