Hverarond - Mÿvatn, Iceland
Iceland is richer in hot springs and high-temperature geothermal activity than any other country in the world. Situated near Lake Mývatn in northeast Iceland, Hverarönd is again one more stop by if you are travelling around Krafla. It was rainy when we arrived so the contrast was much stronger and the whole look of the landscape felt even more like being on a different planet rather than being on earth. I don’t really know how to explain the feelings while exploring the area but for the first time I felt like anything could happen! An energetically bubbling, boiling and spiting mud, clay springs, smell of hydrogen sulphide or whistling sounds of escaping steam. Sounds nasty? I picked a few others, but strongly related photographs too, such as geysir, to create a balance and give just the best experience.
