Reykjavik
The capital and the largest city in Iceland is Reykjavík, with the surrounding area being home to some two-thirds of the national population. Its latitude makes it the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign state. Reykjavik is a city where you will feel safe to walk the streets at any time, not talking about walkable city centre that gives you a stress-free experience to reach almost any attraction within minutes without planning what transport to use. Starting in Reykjavik already feels like being the only person on earth. Being in the city, I still manage to capture some of the landscape type and architecture photography to reflect the local life-style.
In terms of life style, the capital combines colorful buildings, quirky people and a wild nightlife to a brilliant effect. I instantly fall in love! Lost in time due to never-ending days it was quite amazing to observe people partying when the sun was approaching only “twelve o’clock”.
Being a fish lover I would not forgive myself to not to visit one of the harbours fish restaurants to try some of the local, very fresh specialities. Trust me, worth to try!
